A Dream That Became a Legacy
Oddfellows started as a vision—a place where good food, great company, and lasting memories could come together. Maddie and Jeremy dreamed of creating a space in downtown Portsmouth that felt like home, where people could come together and celebrate our community. They put their hearts into restoring this historic building, giving it new life.
A Journey of Strength and Perseverance
Just as the dream was taking shape, Jeremy was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. The project paused, but the vision remained. Maddie’s father, Bob, stepped in to help complete the first phase of renovations. In June 2022, after a courageous fight, Jeremy passed away. Instead of letting the dream fade, Maddie made it her mission to see it through.
A New Chapter, A Shared Vision
During the next phase of Oddfellows, Maddie met Jay, a skilled builder and chef with a passion for great food and craftsmanship. He became an essential part of the restaurant’s journey, and together, they brought Oddfellows to life. Their shared love for food, hospitality, and community made the space even more special.
